Glossary

Mock's vocabulary, explained simply.

A

AI points

The currency of the AI assistant.

AI points are spent on each request made to the AI assistant. A subscription grants some every month, and you can buy more in the Shop.

B

Bundle

Several creations sold together at a reduced price.

A bundle groups several creations on the Marketplace for a better overall price. The buyer receives each included creation, along with its updates.

C

Coins

The currency for buying on the Marketplace.

Coins are used to buy creations on the Marketplace and some services such as domains. You get them in the Shop. They don't pay for hosting: that's what server credits are for.

Compatibility

Which platform and versions a mock is made for.

Each mock, extension or resource is made for certain platforms and versions. A server can only install creations compatible with its platform. Incompatible creations are greyed out, with the reason.

D

Draft

An update you can still edit and test on your servers.

A draft is an update in progress. You can edit it and test it on your own servers as much as you like. Buyers don't receive it until you validate it.

E

Extension

Adds blocks to Mocka. Written by developers.

An extension brings new blocks to Mocka. A developer programs it, then it is added to a mock to expand what the mock can do. Most creators use extensions without ever writing one.

L

Library

Everything you've bought or created, in one place.

The Library gathers your purchases and your creations: mocks, extensions and resources. There you follow their versions, install them on your servers and, if you sell, check your sales.

Listing

A creation's sales page on the Marketplace.

A listing presents one of your creations on the Marketplace: description, images, the price of each version, promo codes. Putting a creation on sale creates its listing; removing it from sale hides it without deleting the creation.

M

Machine

The computer that runs your server, in the cloud or at home.

A machine is the computer that runs your server. Mock can host it in the cloud (paid with server credits) or you can run it at home. Most servers have a single machine; adding more is an advanced setting.

Marketplace

Where you buy and sell mocks.

The Marketplace is Mock's store for community creations. You'll find mocks, extensions, resources and bundles there, and you can put your own creations on sale. Purchases are paid with coins.

Mock

A plugin built without code in Mocka, for a compatible platform. It installs on a server.

A mock is what you create on Mock: a plugin built without writing code, in the Mocka visual editor, for a compatible platform. You can install it on your servers, share it or put it on sale on the Marketplace. Each mock evolves through versions and updates.

Mocka

The visual editor where you build a mock's logic.

Mocka is Mock's visual editor. You connect blocks together to describe what your mock does, without writing code. The blocks available depend on the extensions added to the mock.

Module

A set of extensions grouped by a developer. Coming soon.

A module groups several extensions around a common theme. An extension attached to a module shares part of its sales with the module's creator. Modules are coming soon.

R

Resource

A downloadable file: configuration, template, media…

A resource is a file you sell or share on the Marketplace: a configuration, a template, media, and so on. Unlike a mock, it is not built in Mocka: you upload it as is. It also evolves through versions and updates.

S

Server

Where your mocks run: a platform, installed mocks, a connection address.

A server brings together the platform your mocks run on, the installed mocks and resources, their settings and the connection address. To be online, it runs on a machine.

Server credits

The currency for paying to host your servers.

Server credits pay for your machines' running time in the cloud, by the hour or by the month. The price is shown before every start. You get them in the Shop or with a subscription.

Subscription

A monthly plan that grants credits, AI points and perks.

A subscription is a plan paid every month. It grants monthly server credits and AI points, plus perks such as domain slots. It is managed from the Shop.

U

Universe chain

The exact technical stack, from the base up to the platform. Reserved for advanced settings.

The universe chain precisely describes the technical stack of a server or a creation: every layer, from the technical base up to the platform and its version. In most cases choosing a platform is enough; the full chain is set in the "Advanced" sections.

Update

A free improvement to a version.

An update (1.0.1, 1.0.2…) improves a version: fixes, settings, new features. It starts as a draft, then you validate it. Once validated, every buyer of the version receives it for free.

V

Validated

A validated update no longer changes and is delivered to buyers.

Validating an update locks it: its content no longer changes. If the creation is on sale, every buyer of the version receives it. As long as no buyer has received it, you can turn it back into a draft; otherwise, create a new update.

Version

What the buyer pays for. Updates to this version are free for them.

A version (1.x, 2.x…) is an edition of a creation. A buyer pays for a version, then receives all of its updates for free. Creating a new version means offering a new paid edition: buyers of the previous one don't receive it automatically.
